Freelance Writing
The art of freelance writing entails writing for different businesses and publications without a long-term commitment to any one employer. The power to sell and choose a worthy buyer for their piece of writing rests with the freelance writer. The person who is engaged in his own business, pays no one but himself, sets his own pace and seeks out his own and that person is called a freelance writer. He may pursue freelance writing as a part time job or may work as a full time freelance writer.
Content in freelance writing may be informative, entertaining or instructive. A freelance writer can write articles for newspapers, magazines and websites. Or he may be involved in short story writing, technical writing or ghost-writing. A freelance writer has the power to choose from a wide range of publications or writing markets. Thus it can be said that freelance writing is a broad job description; the writer can chose from the different genres of writing, do what he loves the most and get paid for it.
What is most appealing about freelance writing is the freedom one gets with it; the freedom of choosing your work, freedom of choosing your genre of writing. With multiple markets and genres to choose from, flexible working schedules, the ability to work from home, the power to set his own deadlines and goals, sky is the limit for a freelance writer. Moreover he is free from the pressures that breathe in a regular office set up wherein the formally employed workers have no say in the kind and amount of given to them. However, along with these benefits, comes the task of self-discipline and responsibility; the responsibility to deliver the best piece of work to your publishers.
